As a member of the Americas sales team, the Field Sales Engineer will play a crucial role in facilitating the design-in and sales of power semiconductor products. This position is centered around providing technical support for both new and existing projects to OEM customers, with a strong emphasis on developing and growing revenue at established key accounts as well as new accounts. The successful candidate will need to possess a solid understanding of the PI product portfolio and the PI Expert design software, enabling them to present tailored solutions that effectively highlight the PI value proposition. Furthermore, a deep understanding of customer design requirements for AC/DC power conversion is essential for success in this role. The Field Sales Engineer will serve as the technical lead and first point of contact for all customer requests and support. This includes developing and maintaining strong relationships with key accounts, preparing technical solutions that explain the features and benefits of PI's products, and delivering technical presentations that address customer requirements. The role also involves capturing all commercial information related to applications, program names, volumes, CM partner locations, and SOPs. Additionally, the engineer will manage customer forecasts, prepare sales reports, and provide territory updates. Both pre-sales and post-sales support will be part of the responsibilities, ensuring that customers are assured of product functionality for their applications and assisting with product integration into their designs or resolving any issues that may arise. This position requires extensive travel to selected focus customers, with an expectation of approximately 80% travel. The Field Sales Engineer will report directly to the Director of Sales, Americas, based in San Jose, and will be expected to work collaboratively with team members to achieve sales goals and customer satisfaction.
