About the position

The Field Sales Engineer is responsible for selling ASCO Products within a designated territory, focusing on both existing and new accounts. This role emphasizes building and maintaining customer relationships, providing exceptional customer service, and developing sales strategies to maximize product sales and market share. The position requires effective communication and collaboration with internal teams to ensure project success and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Establish, develop, and maintain business relationships with current and prospective customers.
  • Conduct routine calls on all assigned accounts to generate new business.
  • Improve ASCO specification position and minimize competitors listed.
  • Track and influence projects from pre-design to close out phase.
  • Maximize sales of all ASCO products and communicate project status to the sales team.
  • Develop sales strategies to close orders and increase market share for new products.
  • Coordinate sales efforts with management and exhaust options for urgent orders.
  • Identify product advantages and competitive threats.
  • Prepare and deliver sales proposals and follow up with key decision makers.
  • Host/participate in trade shows and conventions to promote products.
  • Close sales with assigned accounts and develop sales plans/strategies.
  • Work with applications groups on technical and design issues.
  • Follow up on projects quoted and coordinate quotes and submittal drawings with internal resources.
  • Identify customer's needs and adapt to their concerns.
  • Acknowledge customer requests and ensure a quick turnaround of inquiries.
  • Develop and conduct routine product seminars for clients.
  • Manage business relationships and identify impactful concerns.
  • Coordinate proper inter-territory involvement and manage projects internally and externally.
  • Resolve customer issues timely and assist in problem-solving calls with the inside sales team.
  • Provide detailed project updates for monthly sales meetings.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of sales experience with similar products; local experience preferred.
  • Knowledgeable of the power industry and three-phase electricity.
  • Strong product, competitor, and customer knowledge to act as a consultant to targeted accounts.
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft applications.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to drive to construction sites and management offices required.
  • BS degree or comparable work experience required; engineering degree preferred.
