About the position

The Field Sales Rep III Crop-Southwest MN is responsible for achieving sales targets for Bayer products in the Southwest Minnesota region. This role involves collaborating with team members to deliver squad goals, developing dealer business plans, managing inventory, and serving as a key consultant to retailers and dealers. The position requires strong communication skills, business acumen, and the ability to analyze market data to drive business results.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve assigned targets with Bayer products in coordination with squad-mates.
  • Develop and implement dealer business plans and manage forecasting and inventory.
  • Serve as the key business consultant to retailers and dealers, selling the value of Bayer Crop Science products.
  • Demonstrate proof of product performance and champion Bayer brands.
  • Collaborate with squad-mates to maximize services and sales to preferred growers and key customer accounts.
  • Manage inventory concerns to meet business objectives and anticipate demand.
  • Gather and analyze market and competitive information to drive business decisions.
  • Develop strategies for achieving long and short business plans for key accounts.
  • Manage expenses and program payments to enable growth.
  • Mentor and coach earlier-in-career Field Sales Reps.
  • Ensure achievement of program execution and fulfillment, including marketing initiatives.
  • Act as the business expert for top growers and retailers, planning for customer needs.
  • Manage area claims per Bayer Crop Science policy.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills (interpersonal, oral and written).
  • Demonstrated initiative, assertiveness, and ability to drive results.
  • Excellent business acumen, account planning, influencing, and critical thinking skills.
  • Financial, time, and territory management expertise.
  • Proven ability to multi-task in a rapid-paced and matrixed environment.
  • Strong computer and presentation skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 6+ years of experience in sales, marketing, account management, or agriculture, or 10+ years of relevant experience without a degree.
  • Demonstrated product, portfolio, and agronomic knowledge.
