About the position

The Field Sales Rep III Seed role focuses on achieving sales targets for Bayer products in the New York/New England territory. This position involves developing dealer business plans, managing inventory, and serving as a key consultant to retailers and dealers. The role requires collaboration with various stakeholders to maximize sales and ensure effective program execution.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve assigned targets with Bayer products in coordination with pod-mates.
  • Develop and implement dealer business plans and manage forecasting proactively.
  • Serve as the key business consultant to retailers and dealers, selling the value of Bayer Crop Science products.
  • Demonstrate proof of product performance and champion Bayer brands.
  • Collaborate with Field Sales Representatives, Customer Business Advisors, and Agronomists to maximize services and sales.
  • Manage inventory concerns to meet business objectives and anticipate demand.
  • Gather and analyze market and competitive information to drive business decisions.
  • Recommend strategies for achieving long and short-term business plans for key accounts.
  • Manage expenses and program payments per Bayer Crop Science policy.
  • Mentor and coach earlier-in-career Field Sales Representatives.
  • Ensure achievement of program execution and fulfillment, including marketing initiatives.
  • Act as the business expert for top growers and retailers, planning for customer business needs.
  • Manage area claims through effective problem solving and resource management.
  • Travel approximately 60% primarily for day travel within the territory.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Excellent communication skills (interpersonal, oral and written).
  • Demonstrated initiative, assertiveness, and ability to drive results.
  • Excellent business acumen, account planning, influencing, and critical thinking skills.
  • Financial, time, and territory management expertise.
  • Proven ability to multi-task in a rapid-paced environment.
  • Strong computer and presentation skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Demonstrated digital acumen and ability to analyze data to influence decisions.
  • Willingness to travel and live/work in a rural environment.
  • Proven interest in supporting collaboration and teamwork.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree and 6+ years of experience in sales, marketing, account management, or agriculture.
  • Demonstrated product, portfolio, and agronomic knowledge.
