About the position

The Field Sales Representative at UNFI is responsible for partnering with assigned customers to ensure they have the right products at the right time and in the right placement. This role involves daily travel to customer locations, maintaining effective business relationships, and ensuring the proper display and rotation of products. The representative will also handle merchandise returns, assist with promotional materials, and follow company policies related to food safety and quality.

Responsibilities

• Order products that align with the needs of the customer.
• Effectively display store products.
• Maintain effective business relationships with customers.
• Travel daily to customer locations.
• Arrive promptly at customer locations on assigned route for service.
• Rotate stock and remove out of code product.
• Process merchandise returns and issue credits according to company policy.
• Ensure the neat and orderly appearance of UNFI products.
• Notify customers about product and/or delivery.
• Assist in hanging shelf tags and promotional POS/POP materials and resets.
• Sell promotional and sales programs as assigned.
• Perform duties in accordance with HACCP and SQF policies and procedures.
• Follow through on customer product requests.
• Keep management informed of area activities and significant concerns.
• Attend meetings as required.
• Provide backup for other field sales representatives when needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Valid driver's license necessary.
• Auto insurance levels that meet UNFI requirements.
• Prior customer service experience in a retail setting.
• System Implementation preferred.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Good communication skills.
• Time management skills and attention to detail.
• Basic math abilities.
• Ability to work independently.
• Good judgment is required for this position.
