About the position

The Single Market Luxury Manager (SMLM) at The RealReal is a key Outside Sales position focused on building client relationships and driving the luxury consignment business. This role involves acquiring consigned items from clients within an assigned territory, emphasizing customer engagement and sales performance in a quota-driven environment.

Responsibilities

  • Convert marketing generated leads into new clients and self-generate new business by prospecting new and activating lapsed leads.
  • Connect with new and established clients to drive consignment activity through daily outreach and in-home appointments.
  • Leverage strong client relationships to gain referrals for new business.
  • Procure consigned goods from clients and ship to ecommerce centers on their behalf.
  • Provide an outstanding client experience.
  • Review consignor contracts with clients.
  • Set pricing expectations through deep knowledge of luxury, while utilizing internal tools and resources.
  • Partner with Consignor Relations team to proactively resolve client issues or concerns.
  • Regularly spend more than 70% in the field building client relationships and acquiring consigned items.
  • Other duties as required.

Requirements

  • 3+ years direct sales experience with a proven track record of success in performance-based sales roles.
  • Ability to quickly build rapport and establish trust and credibility with clients.
  • Ability to commit to 40 hours per week and occasionally work off-hours as required by clientele.
  • Self-motivation and drive to achieve results.
  • Experience converting leads to close new business.
  • Stellar communication skills - both written and verbal; Ability to effectively interface with sophisticated clientele and adapt communication style to suit the target audience.
  • Proven ability to build lasting relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, dedicated, and results-oriented with a strong ability to work independently in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
  • Proficiency with technological tools including Salesforce or a CRM of similar caliber and G-suite.
  • Team-focused mentality with a passion for collaboration.
  • A solutions-focused mentality with a growth mindset.
  • Adaptability and openness to change.
  • Highly coachable with an eagerness to learn.
  • Must live and regularly meet with clients in person anywhere within assigned territory.
  • A current, valid driver's license (except in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Chicago markets).
  • Car insurance that meets or exceeds local requirements.
  • A satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
  • Ability to travel more than 70% within designated market.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 25 lbs.

  • Existing book of clients.
  • Ability to discuss and advise customers on general fashion trends and developments in the luxury market.
