About the position
The Field Service Automation Technician at Total Environmental Service Technologies, Incorporated (TEST, Inc.) is responsible for programming and troubleshooting various automated systems, particularly those involving programmable logic controllers (PLCs). This role involves hands-on work with alarm systems, panel installations, and maintenance of water and wastewater treatment facilities. The technician will also oversee helpers and ensure accurate documentation of schematics and inventory management.
Responsibilities
- Programming various types of PLCs
- Program and install various types of alarm/notification systems
- Help to build panels
- Install panels
- Direct helpers in performing tasks, such as building and installing panels
- Troubleshoot automated systems issues associated with PLCs, A/C and DC drives, pumps and associated equipment
- Perform preventive, predictive maintenance as required
- Keep track of spare parts inventory
- Make necessary edits/redlines to schematics drawings and provide them to the engineering department for accurate documentation
Requirements
- Minimum of 3-5 years related experience and training
- Valid U.S. Driver's License with a clean driving record
- Experience in PLC programming
- Knowledge of PLC-controlled automated systems
- Familiarity with 3-phase and 1-phase equipment
- Understanding of instrumentation such as flowmeters and temperature transmitters
- Ability to follow blueprints and technical advice from engineers or project managers
