About the position

The Field Service Electrical Engineer at Westinghouse Electric Company is responsible for providing support for nuclear fuel handling equipment and outage critical cranes at remote nuclear power plants and local service centers. This role emphasizes safety and quality while troubleshooting, maintaining, and supporting equipment in the field. The engineer will have the authority to change procedures, approve design changes, and provide technical guidance, ensuring effective communication and collaboration with internal teams, customers, and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, maintain, and support nuclear fuel handling equipment and outage critical cranes.
• Participate in critique/lessons learned programs to foster constructive problem solving.
• Provide guidance, direction, and assistance through excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Perform complex design, analysis, and evaluations of technical products and services.
• Support the development of cost workbooks for service and equipment offers.
• Assist in Field Service outage activities and communicate with internal groups, customers, and vendors.
• Support manufacturing and field service during fabrication, assembly, and installation phases.
• Solve routine and complex technical problems and lead design reviews.
• Identify and recommend improvements in processes and assist in implementation.
• Perform work within established scope, budgetary, and schedule requirements.
• Resolve Corrective Action issues and support process improvement efforts.
• Display strong leadership skills and assist in developing new business opportunities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering; Master's degree preferred.
• 5-10 years of discipline-related engineering experience required; 10+ years preferred.
• Prior nuclear experience preferred.
• Ability to occasionally carry/lift up to 50 pounds.
• Full range of motion required for various physical tasks.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in product line, field, or projects organizations.
• Nuclear experience is a plus.
