About the position

KLA is a global leader in diversified electronics for the semiconductor manufacturing ecosystem. The company is known for its innovative systems and solutions that are essential for the manufacturing of wafers, reticles, integrated circuits, packaging, printed circuit boards, and flat panel displays. The role involves performing installations, preventative maintenance, and remedial repair maintenance on sophisticated electro-mechanical semiconductor capital equipment at global customer locations. The position requires building and maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction through effective customer service skills, ensuring fast and quality responses to both internal and external customers while maintaining a safety-first mentality. In this role, you will develop action plans for problem resolution and present them to both internal and external customers. You will also be responsible for developing improvements for processes, hardware, and software to ensure continuous improvement of the company's equipment and business operations. Collaboration with the sales team is essential, as you will complete a facility detail form for new systems to ensure KLA equipment aligns with assigned location and space requirements at the fabrication facility (FAB). Additionally, you will complete detailed Field Service Reports and submit them to management in a timely manner, documenting any issues that cannot be immediately resolved at the customer site using the appropriate format. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Perform installations, preventative maintenance, and remedial repair maintenance on sophisticated electro-mechanical semiconductor capital equipment at global customer locations.
  • Build and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction through customer service skills, implementing fast quality responses to both internal and external customers while maintaining a safety-first mentality.
  • Develop action plans for problem resolution and present to internal and external customers.
  • Develop improvements for processes, hardware, and software for continuous improvement of the company's equipment and business operations.
  • Work closely with the sales team and complete a facility detail form for new systems to ensure KLA equipment aligns with assigned location/space requirements at FAB.
  • Complete detailed Field Service Reports and submit to management in a timely manner.
  • Document issues that cannot immediately be resolved at the customer site by using the appropriate format.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 2+ years field service/customer support experience of sophisticated, complex precision equipment.
  • Bachelor's degree in chemical, electrical/electronic or mechanical engineering desired.
  • Must possess basic troubleshooting techniques in repairing complex microprocessor controlled electro-mechanical systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret electronic/electro-mechanical schematics and drawings.
  • Outstanding and professional customer service skills.
  • Ability to work with hand tools.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working in a FAB facility.
  • Knowledge of closed loop communications control.
  • Experience with electro-mechanical controls or microprocessor-based controllers.
  • Familiarity with chemical handling including acids and FAB safety requirements or practices.
  • Military experience.
