About the position

As a Field Service Engineer specializing in Advanced Methane Leak Detection at ABB, you will play a crucial role in executing service work that adheres to ABB's quality and safety guidelines. This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about delivering exceptional customer service while ensuring the highest standards of operational excellence. You will be responsible for planning and executing service work according to customer orders and expectations, which will require effective communication regarding service timelines and expectations to ensure customer retention. Your work will primarily be remote, with a focus on the Measurement & Analytics division, ideally based in Oklahoma or the Southwestern US, such as Dallas, TX. You will engage directly with customers on-site to identify opportunities for operational improvements and to address any pain points they may be experiencing. This role involves performing field service tasks, diagnosing technical issues, and conducting analyses through both remote and on-site activities in the service categories and products for which you are certified. Additionally, you will be responsible for preparing material lists necessary for service activities, ensuring that all materials, parts, and equipment are available and meet the required quality standards. In this role, you may also act as a trainer for field service associates and customers, sharing your expertise and contributing to the development of a high-performing team. Responsibilities

  • Execute service work as per work instructions and ABB quality and safety guidelines.
  • Deliver quality customer service by planning and executing service work according to customer orders and expectations.
  • Communicate service work timelines and expectations effectively to ensure customer retention.
  • Identify opportunities to improve customer operations and eliminate pain points during on-site visits.
  • Perform field service tasks, identify technical issues, and conduct analysis through remote or on-site activities.
  • Prepare material lists needed for service activities and ensure availability and quality of all materials, parts, and equipment.
  • Act as a trainer for field service associates and customers when needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience with a High School diploma and a minimum of 5 years of engineering/field experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of field engineering experience.
  • Ability and willingness to travel approximately 75% as required.
  • Possess and maintain a valid passport and driver's license.
  • Technical skills in startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, preventive and unplanned maintenance of gas analyzers.
  • Ability to build strong customer relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with minimum supervision.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills and customer service orientation.
  • Strong computer skills, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
