About the position

As a Field Service Engineer specializing in Advanced Methane Leak Detection at ABB, you will play a crucial role in executing service work in alignment with ABB's quality and safety guidelines. This position offers the opportunity to deliver exceptional customer service by planning and executing service work according to customer orders and expectations. You will be responsible for ensuring customer retention through effective communication regarding service work timelines and expectations. The role is primarily remote, with a focus on serving customers in Oklahoma and the Southwestern US, including Dallas, TX. In this position, you will work closely with customers on-site to identify opportunities for operational improvements and to address any pain points they may be experiencing. Your responsibilities will include performing field service tasks, diagnosing technical issues, and conducting analyses through both remote and on-site activities in the service categories and products for which you are certified. You will also prepare material lists necessary for service activities, ensuring that all materials, parts, and equipment are available and meet the required quality standards. Additionally, you may act as a trainer for field service associates and customers, sharing your expertise and knowledge to enhance team performance. Responsibilities

  • Execute service work as per work instructions and ABB quality and safety guidelines.
  • Deliver quality customer service by planning and executing service work according to customer orders and expectations.
  • Communicate effectively with customers regarding service work timelines and expectations to ensure customer retention.
  • Identify opportunities to improve customer operations and eliminate pain points while on-site.
  • Perform field service tasks, identify technical issues, and conduct analyses through remote or on-site activities.
  • Prepare material lists needed for service activities and ensure all materials, parts, and equipment are available and of appropriate quality.
  • Act as a trainer for field service associates and customers when needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience with a High School diploma and a minimum of 5 years of engineering/field experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of field engineering experience.
  • Ability and willingness to travel approximately 75% as required.
  • Possess and maintain a valid passport and driver's license.
  • Technical skills in startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, preventive and unplanned maintenance of gas analyzers.
  • Ability to build strong customer relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with minimum supervision.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills and customer service orientation.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Outlook, Excel, and Word.
