About the position

The Field Service Engineer/Analyst position at SAIC involves leading a team to support the Space Development Agency (SDA) in the development and deployment of the Battle Management Command, Control, and Communications (BMC3) software for the National Defense Space Architecture (NDSA). The role requires expertise in both software and hardware development, integration, operations, and maintenance for space and ground systems, with a focus on ensuring mission applications are effectively tested and deployed.

Responsibilities

  • Support application development teams by providing system engineering technical advice to BMC3 application developers.
  • Conduct hands-on troubleshooting, regression testing, and verification for factory ground segment Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Systems Engineering Integration & Test (SEIT) activities.
  • Plan and execute testing, training, maintenance, and operation of the BMC3 ground hardware to support NDSA operators at the SDA SNOC.
  • Support BMC3 Ecosystem DevSecOps CI/CD from the SDA SNOCs.
  • Operate the BMC3 Ground Hardware.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree with 9+ years of experience, Master's Degree with 7+ years, or PhD/JD with 4+ years in systems engineering and test experience in space, ground, operations, and sustainment segments of DoD, NSA, or NRO programs.
  • Proven delivery record with systems engineering, testing, and integration experience with hardware and software systems.
  • Experience with Gitlab Runners or GitHub.
  • DevSecOps experience, particularly in relation to application factory operations.
  • Experience with Single Board Computer (SBC) integration and testing.
  • Experience with Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) integration and testing.
  • Experience with Hardware in the Loop (HITL) and Software in the Loop (SITL) design, integration, and testing.
  • Demonstrated experience working with Space Force/Air Force/DoD customers in an acquisition environment, with space and/or ground systems.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based systems, operating systems, databases, networking, firewalls, and Network Intrusion Detection and Prevention Systems (IDS/IPS).
  • AWS Cloud Practitioners certification.
  • Linux (Ubuntu) experience.
  • Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance.
