About the position

The Field Service Engineer position focuses on providing on-site support for packaging equipment and automated systems within the manufacturing industry. This role is essential for ensuring the efficient operation of machinery through preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair services. The successful candidate will work closely with clients and the engineering team to enhance system performance and contribute to innovative solutions in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out preventive maintenance on packaging equipment and automated systems to ensure optimal performance and prevent potential issues.
  • Troubleshoot and repair faults on packaging machinery and automated equipment at client sites, minimizing downtime and ensuring maximum productivity.
  • Provide technical support and advice to clients, ensuring they understand the operation and maintenance of the equipment.
  • Work closely with our engineering team to provide feedback and insights into equipment performance, potential improvements, and innovative solutions.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed service reports, documenting all maintenance and repair activities.
  • Keep abreast of new technologies and industry trends in packaging equipment and automation.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and others.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your technical skills and industry knowledge.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Field Service Engineer, specifically with packaging equipment and automated systems.
  • A degree in Engineering, or a related technical field, is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of preventive maintenance techniques and best practices.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and repair complex mechanical and electrical faults.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information to non-technical clients.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think on your feet and make effective decisions under pressure.
  • A commitment to safety and adherence to safety protocols and procedures.
  • Willingness to travel to client sites as required.
  • Proficiency in using computer software and applications for reporting and documentation.
  • A valid driver's license.
