About the position

The Field Service Engineer will be responsible for servicing medical laboratory equipment, including hematology, chemistry, and coagulation analyzers, for a manufacturer of medical laboratory analyzers. This role requires a strong background in electronics and electro-mechanical troubleshooting, as well as the ability to establish good customer relations. The position is remote but requires travel within Central California, specifically from Stockton to Bakersfield.

Responsibilities

  • Install, service, and perform preventive maintenance on medical laboratory instrumentation.
  • Establish and maintain good customer relations.
  • Coordinate problem resolution within the Field Support Group.
  • Maintain car inventory, including tools and trunk stock (parts).
  • Provide basic on-site training regarding the operation of company instrumentation.

Requirements

  • A Certificate or AAS Degree in electronics or a related discipline is required.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience as a field service engineer.
  • Good experience with electronics and electro-mechanical troubleshooting.
  • Current or recent field service experience in the Medical Device industry is preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience servicing medical lab analyzers or other medical instrumentation would be a plus.

Benefits

  • Base salary of $75,000 - $90,000 depending on experience, with potential for overtime and performance bonuses adding an additional $4,000 - $8,000 annually.
