About the position

As a Field Service Engineer specializing in CT/MRI, you will play a crucial role in enhancing customer relationships through your technical expertise. Your primary responsibilities will include installing, troubleshooting, servicing, and maintaining medical imaging equipment at various customer sites. This position requires you to reside in or be within commuting distance of Chicago, IL, as you will be expected to provide exceptional customer service by adhering to customer entitlements, setting clear expectations, and meeting commitments and arrival times to effectively address and resolve customer needs. You will need to understand the customer's business and competitive environment to generate service revenue. Active participation as a member of the regional work team is essential, as you will work to improve team processes and identify training gaps. You will also seek opportunities to increase your capability and capacity, which may involve becoming qualified in multiple modalities and learning new tools. Administrative duties are a significant part of this role, and you will be responsible for completing all necessary paperwork within established Philips, State, and Federal regulatory requirements and timeframes. This includes timesheets, service work orders, expense reports, Field Change Orders (FCO), preventative maintenance (PM), installation documents, and other related documentation. Adhering to established training, quality, and safety requirements is critical. You will be expected to utilize tools, support, resources, and escalation processes to resolve customer and system problems in a timely and effective manner. Completing PMs, FCOs, installations, and all related tasks, including diagnosing and resolving electronic, network, and mechanical problems, will be part of your daily responsibilities. The role requires approximately 70% travel across the specified geography, with an average driving time of 1-4 hours daily, and may include occasional overnight stays and travel by air and/or train.

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service by adhering to customer entitlements and setting clear expectations.
  • Understand the customer's business and competitive environment to generate service revenue.
  • Actively participate as a member of the regional work team to improve team processes and identify training gaps.
  • Seek opportunities to increase capability and capacity, including becoming qualified in multiple modalities.
  • Perform all administrative duties within established regulatory requirements and timeframes, including timesheets and service work orders.
  • Complete preventative maintenance (PM), Field Change Orders (FCO), installations, and related tasks.
  • Utilize tools and resources to resolve customer and system problems timely and effectively.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in a diagnostic imaging service environment or 4+ years in electromechanical industries.
  • CT and MRI experience and OEM training is highly preferred.
  • Ability to understand and apply electronic, mechanical, and networking theory to install, diagnose, and repair equipment.
  • Knowledge and use of necessary tools and test equipment.
  • Associate Degree in electronics or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience; BSEE/BSEET/BSME/BSMET preferred.
  • Ability to work in an office/home office and/or remote setting, as well as in a hospital/healthcare environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with radiation sources and/or radioactive materials.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and on-call rotations.
