About the position

As a Field Service Engineer - Cymer at ASML, you will be an integral part of a dedicated team responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of Cymer laser equipment at customer sites. Your role is crucial in ensuring that our advanced systems operate efficiently and effectively, contributing to the technological innovations that drive the microchip industry forward. You will leverage your technical expertise to collaborate with colleagues, customers, and field support teams to diagnose and resolve equipment issues, thereby enhancing functionality and preventing future problems. This position not only requires technical acumen but also a commitment to customer satisfaction, as you will be the primary point of contact for users experiencing routine malfunctions. Your responsibilities will include the transfer of knowledge to customers, ensuring they are equipped to handle basic issues independently. In this role, you will analyze, diagnose, and troubleshoot Cymer equipment problems, either remotely via telephone or on-site at customer locations. You will perform installations, repairs, retrofits, upgrades, and preventive maintenance on the equipment, maintaining an assigned installation base. This includes providing primary support, forecasting needs, conducting customer support meetings, and ensuring regular communication with clients. You will also be responsible for ensuring that all necessary parts and tools are available for service requirements, completing service and expense reports, and adhering to Cymer's processes with supervisor approval. Your ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment, coupled with your strong customer focus, will be essential to your success in this position.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze, diagnose, and troubleshoot Cymer equipment problems via telephone or at customer site.
  • Perform installation, repair, retrofits, upgrades, and preventive maintenance on Cymer equipment installed at customer sites.
  • Maintain an assigned installation equipment base, providing primary support and conducting customer support meetings.
  • Ensure parts are available and as specified for service requirements, and maintain appropriate tools on hand.
  • Complete service, expense reports, and other administrative responsibilities in accordance with Cymer's processes.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience is required.
  • 3-5 years of technical experience working with electronics is required.
  • Advanced knowledge of installation, maintenance/repair, and troubleshooting at both the module and system level is required.
  • Experience using software packages such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and LabView is required.
  • Oral and written English language skills are required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Cymer laser experience is highly preferred.
  • Ability to read and analyze opto-mechanical and electronic schematics.
  • Strong customer focus and commitment to customer satisfaction through prioritization, quality, efficiency, and professionalism.
  • Proven ability to perform effectively in a demanding environment with changing workloads and deadlines.
  • Ability to analyze data and report problems, and complete accurate, comprehensive service reports.
