Field Service Engineer (Field Based in Memphis, TN)

About the position

The Field Service Engineer (FSE) role at BD involves providing on-site support for flow cytometry instrumentation in Nashville, TN. This position is crucial for ensuring the installation, maintenance, and service of diagnostic equipment, while also supporting customers through various channels including after-hours and weekend assistance. The FSE is expected to uphold BD's standards of quality service and maintain effective customer relations.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site support for installation and service of diagnostic instrumentation.
• Offer after-hours phone support and on-site assistance during holidays and weekends.
• Maintain car stock inventory, test equipment, tools, and technical data.
• Complete service documentation in accordance with GMP requirements.
• Follow up with customers post-service to ensure satisfaction.
• Report quality control and technical issues to the Service Center and management.
• Promote and maintain good customer relations through professional conduct.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience troubleshooting electronic instruments or components.
• Valid Driver's License with a clear Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
• Ability to travel a minimum of 50%.

Nice-to-haves

• Flow Cytometry experience.
• Technical military training.
• Associates or Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Engineering, or related field.
• Prior Field Service Engineer experience.
• Experience troubleshooting medical device instruments.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications (Word and Excel).
• Familiarity with recent Mac and PC operating systems.
• Experience with tools and test equipment such as digital volt meters and oscilloscopes.
