About the position

The Field Service Engineer (FSE) role in Nashville, TN involves providing on-site support for flow cytometry instrumentation. This position is crucial for ensuring the installation, maintenance, and service of diagnostic equipment, while also supporting customers through various channels including after-hours and weekend assistance. The FSE is expected to uphold BD's standards of quality service and maintain effective customer relations.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site support for installation and service of diagnostic instrumentation.
• Offer after-hours phone support and on-site assistance during holidays and weekends.
• Maintain car stock inventory, test equipment, tools, and technical data.
• Complete service documentation in accordance with GMP requirements.
• Follow up with customers post-service to ensure satisfaction.
• Report quality control and technical issues to the Service Center and management.
• Promote and maintain good customer relations through professional conduct.

Requirements

• A minimum of a High School diploma.
• At least 3 years of experience troubleshooting electronic instruments or components.
• A valid Driver's License with a clear MVR.
• Ability to travel a minimum of 50%.

Nice-to-haves

• Flow Cytometry experience is a plus.
• Technical military training.
• Associates or Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Engineering, or related fields.
• Prior Field Service Engineer experience.
• Experience troubleshooting medical device instruments.
• Previous customer interfacing role.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications such as Word and Excel.
• Familiarity with recent Mac and PC operating systems.
• Experience with tools and test equipment such as digital volt meters and oscilloscopes.
