This is a work-from-home, remote position that offers a company car, gas card, cell phone, and laptop, with all vehicle maintenance covered by QuidelOrtho. This field-based position covers customers throughout Western Colorado, from Grand Junction to Buena Vista, CO. The role requires a qualified individual who has experience installing, operating, maintaining, repairing, and modifying electromechanical equipment, preferably in the field. The Field Service Engineer will troubleshoot technical problems and systems issues, determine technical solutions in accordance with product and customer specifications, and recommend actions to company or customer representatives for coordinated product solutions. The position also involves conducting technical analysis of product implementations, modifications, and enhancements to products in accordance with specific customer specifications. The individual will assess customer needs and recommend solutions in accordance with product specifications and customer requirements. Additionally, the role includes conducting technical training and product briefings with customers, vendors, and company representatives as needed, acting as the local on-site representative to the customer's organization, and managing all territory responsibilities including preventive maintenance and upgrades, including software and hardware. The Field Service Engineer will provide service support in the hospital/clinic laboratory environment and will be responsible for individual parts management, online training, and administrative expense reporting. Other work-related duties may be assigned as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Install, operate, maintain, repair, and modify electromechanical equipment in the field.
  • Troubleshoot technical problems and systems issues.

Requirements

  • Minimum of an Associate's degree in Electronics or Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent 4 years of military or field service experience required.
  • Minimum 4 years experience installing, operating, maintaining, repairing, and modifying electromechanical equipment, preferably in the field, required.
  • Ability to organize and express ideas clearly, verbally and in writing, in individual or group situations.
  • Possess appropriate technical knowledge and the ability to utilize that knowledge to effectively perform required job functions.
  • Ability to effectively manage assigned workload within allotted time constraints.
  • Must have the ability to lift 75 lbs.
  • A valid driver's license is always required.
  • Extended hours may be required.
