About the position

The Field Service Engineer I position at Ziehm Orthoscan Inc. is a full-time role focused on the installation, servicing, maintenance, and modification of medical imaging equipment, particularly digital imaging systems and general fluoroscopy equipment. This position is customer-facing and requires the engineer to represent the company while providing exceptional service to major healthcare facilities in the Eastern PA market. The role involves significant travel, including interstate and domestic flights, to meet customer needs effectively. As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for identifying, analyzing, and executing service orders, which include repairs, planned maintenance, and installations. You will provide ongoing technical support to customers, ensuring that their equipment operates efficiently and effectively. This includes offering product feedback, reporting any deviations from quality standards, and maintaining all necessary documentation related to service activities. You will also be responsible for overseeing the proper handling of equipment during shipping and providing clinical support during trade shows. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, preferably with a Bachelor's degree or an Associate degree in electronics, biomedical, or a related technical field. A minimum of two years of experience in a similar role is required, along with advanced knowledge of digital and analog circuitry. The position demands excellent communication skills, the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. You will need to adapt to a dynamic work environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to safety standards and company policies.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, analyze, and execute required service orders including repairs, planned maintenance, and installations.
  • Provide consistent ongoing support to customers through technical phone support, product installation, and service support in the field.
  • Provide product feedback on any issues or trends observed in the field and assist in developing solutions.
  • Report any observed deviations from established product quality standards and specifications to the Regional Service Manager.
  • Report any delays in servicing the customer to the Regional Service Manager for escalation.
  • Maintain all necessary paperwork, emails, vendor credentialing, training, tools, supplies, and parts.
  • Inform the Regional Manager of customer complaints and understand the Company's Quality Policy and departmental objectives.
  • Attend product-specific training when required.
  • Oversee the proper crating and uncrating of C-Arms.
  • Provide demo and clinical support for equipment at trade shows.
  • Follow company policy on corporate credit cards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred or at minimum an associate degree in electronics, biomedical or related technical degree.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience as a Field Service Engineer with medical digital imaging systems and general fluoroscopy equipment.
  • Advanced knowledge of digital and analog circuitry, medical digital imaging systems, and general fluoroscopy.
  • General computer knowledge to include DOS, Microsoft Windows, Unix or Linux.
  • Ability to work professionally with many different personalities.
  • Strong desire for problem solving and dependability.
  • Ability to adapt and work efficiently in a rapidly changing dynamic environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with customer service in a healthcare setting.
  • Familiarity with vendor credentialing requirements for healthcare facilities.
