About the position

As a Field Service Engineer I at Honeywell, you will play a crucial role in enhancing business and family comfort, protection, and productivity. This position is part of Honeywell Intelligrated, a leading provider of intelligent automated material handling solutions. You will be responsible for the successful on-site installation, servicing, and repair of complex equipment and systems, working independently without direct supervision. Your work will cover various states including Oklahoma, Texas, Tennessee, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, North Carolina, and South Carolina. In this role, you will assist other technicians in the repair and maintenance of equipment, ensuring that all work orders, records, logs, and other documentation are completed according to established procedures. You will diagnose mechanical and electrical problems using technical drawings and diagnostic tools, operate various types of material handling equipment, and perform preventive maintenance and repairs on a wide range of equipment including pneumatic systems, hydraulic equipment, and electronic devices. Your troubleshooting skills will be essential in resolving complex electrical and electronic issues, and you will also assist in developing technical documentation and support guides. This position requires a commitment to safety and quality procedures, as well as the ability to maintain an inventory of company-supplied tools. You will be expected to travel at least 85% of the time, making this a dynamic and engaging role that offers the opportunity to work in various locations and environments.

Responsibilities

  • Assists other Technicians in the repair and maintenance of equipment
  • Completes work orders, records, logs and other written or computer-based documents according to established procedures
  • Diagnoses mechanical and electrical problems using technical drawings and diagnostic tools
  • Operates material handling equipment, battery equipment, moving machinery, and other powered equipment
  • Performs preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment according to safety and quality procedures
  • Troubleshoots and repairs complex electrical/electronic problems with equipment, robotics, networks, and PLCs
  • Assists in the development of specific technical and training documentation
  • Provides resolutions to mechanical, technical/controls issues and documents all information relating to customer support issues
  • Maintains inventory of company supplied tools

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2+ years previous technical/installation/basic programming experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and robotics
  • 6+ months experience with conveyor installation, repair & maintenance AND/OR mechanical/electrical Palletizer experience
  • Ability to travel at least 85% of the time
