About the position

McCrometer is seeking a full-time Field Service Engineer I to join our team! This exciting opportunity is anticipated to be 60% remote/work-from-home with 40% of the time completing field work in Southern Nebraska, specifically around the McCook and Holdredge, NE area. The role involves providing technical support and troubleshooting assistance to customers both over the phone and in the field. When working from home, you will spend your days on the phone with customers to support and troubleshoot the design, construction, installation, maintenance, repair, and operation of our instrumentation. The remaining time will be spent traveling to customer locations to provide hands-on support for installation or diagnostic/repair work. Travel for work may include occasional overnight stays at company-approved hotels, ensuring employee safety is a top priority. The standard working hours for this position are 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. This role is ideal for individuals with strong customer service skills and mechanical inclination, who are looking for a supportive environment that challenges and rewards high performance. Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to customers over the phone and in the field.
  • Support and troubleshoot the design, construction, installation, maintenance, repair, and operation of instrumentation.
  • Travel to customer locations to provide hands-on support for installation or diagnostic/repair work.
  • Manage customer relationships and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Document service activities and maintain accurate records of customer interactions.

Requirements

  • Mechanical skills and/or experience is a must.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Valid Driver's License and clean driving record.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous Field Service experience.
  • Experience working with irrigation pipelines or pump controls.
  • Proven ability to self-manage and take initiative.
