About the position

The Field Service Engineer I at Honeywell is responsible for providing on-site installation, maintenance, and support for automation control systems and advanced manufacturing software applications. This role involves troubleshooting, training, and ensuring the operational efficiency of Honeywell products while maintaining strong customer relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain Honeywell's suite of quality control hardware and software and handle customer questions about the state of the system.
  • Sustain proficiency in all products and services that the company offers, including installation standard methodologies and safety guidelines.
  • Provide on-site pre-start-up, start-up, contracted service work, warranty, troubleshooting, and training of Honeywell products.
  • Accurately document work performed at customer facilities and project staging areas, including preventive and corrective maintenance tasks.
  • Handle customer service-related issues while fostering customer relationships and solving technical problems on site.
  • Communicate effectively with plant operators, management, 3rd party vendors, and Honeywell personnel in support of service operations.
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment using technical knowledge and experience to resolve problems.
  • Review product prints and specifications.
  • Participate in various projects such as upgrades, new installations, or new functionality for customers when required.
  • Coordinate work with other groups to ensure commitments are met.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • 1 year of professional experience in an engineering or technical field or military experience in electronics programs may be considered equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to walk and stand for 8 hours per day.
  • 1 year of experience using Basic Windows OS and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to perform frequent climbing, kneeling, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, and grasping.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math
  • Associates Degree in Industrial Engineering or Technology
  • Experience with industrial process control field instrumentation
  • Networking experience
  • Critical thinking and troubleshooting skills; capable of learning available analysis tools to solve complex system or process problems.
