About the position

The Field Service Engineer at Evident is responsible for servicing and repairing microscope imaging systems across the Americas. This customer-facing role involves installation, maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of equipment, providing a great opportunity for recent graduates with relevant technical exposure.

Responsibilities

  • Provide onsite instrument installation, maintenance, and repair within an assigned geographical area.
  • Conduct system diagnoses and repairs with minimal supervision, performing maintenance, calibration, and detailed cleaning of products and accessories.
  • Prepare technical reports and service repair information while in the field.
  • Re-pack components for safe return to customers.
  • Submit timely and accurate reports such as Field Service Reports, Expense Reports, and Quality Control Reports as per requirements.
  • Assist Field Service Engineers and Sales Representatives with product installations, trade shows, and other events as required.
  • Conduct effective customer and internal communication.
  • Ensure timely and professional response to customer service needs to maintain high customer satisfaction.
  • Complete all training courses offered by Field Service Management within a defined period.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • B.S. degree in Physics, Engineering, Chemistry, or other Life Science or Physical Science specialty.
  • Experience in a technical after-sale service environment, including field service and direct customer communications preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with complex analytical or measuring instruments in real-world situations or college lab settings.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on customer satisfaction.
  • Excellent computer skills, capable of software and driver installation.
  • Knowledge of at least three of the following: mechanical drawing parts, basic geo-optics, spectroscopy, microscopy, electronics, and programming.
