About the position
The Field Service Engineer at Skyline Products plays a crucial role in providing customer support, testing, and field repair for LED and scroll style gas price signs, electronic dynamic message signs, and traffic control systems. This position requires a dynamic and self-motivated individual who can represent the company professionally and maintain a customer-centric approach.
Responsibilities
- Travel to customer sites to perform onsite installation, testing, and troubleshooting of dynamic message sign systems located on interstates, local roads, and/or gas stations
- Coordinate, manage, and complete assigned project work orders in a timely manner
- Write routine trip reports, test result reports, feedback reports to engineering, and correspondence
- Communicate frequently and effectively with both internal and external customers
- Facilitate on-site or remote training sessions
Requirements
- Minimum of three years of experience in basic electronics
- Equivalent military technical training and experience
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in electronics preferred
- Experience in the use of multimeters measuring AC and DC voltage
- Able to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
- Proficient with MS Office
- Basic networking and Linux/Unix command line experience is a plus
- Availability to travel up to 75% to customer sites; able to travel on short notice
- Ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds
- Ability to perform in cold, noisy, stressful environments
- Able to work from a bucket truck at heights up to 30 feet
- Must possess a valid driver's license
