About the position

The Field Service Engineer for Leica Biosystems plays a crucial role in providing technical service and support for the company's diagnostic equipment. This position is integral to minimizing customer downtime and generating revenue opportunities, ensuring that the equipment operates efficiently and effectively. As part of the Service Organization based in North Carolina, this role is fully remote, allowing for flexibility while maintaining a focus on advancing cancer diagnostics and improving lives. The Field Service Engineer will be part of a dedicated team, reporting directly to the Regional Field Service Manager. In this position, the engineer will be responsible for troubleshooting, installation, preventative maintenance, and service repair needs of various mechanical, electromechanical, electronic, and refrigeration instruments. The role requires meticulous documentation and completion of service administration activities in accordance with ISO, FDA, and Leica policies. Additionally, the engineer will actively support the sale of service contracts, assist sales representatives and service team members with system configurations and upgrades, and provide valuable feedback on improving financial performance to generate service revenue. Responsibilities

  • Provide installation support, maintenance, modification, and/or repair on 1-2 groups of mechanical, electromechanical, electronic and/or refrigeration instruments.
  • Document and complete service administration activities in a timely manner to follow ISO, FDA, and Leica policies.
  • Actively support the sale of service contracts and assist sales representatives & service team members with system configurations/upgrades.
  • Provide feedback on ways to improve financial performance to generate service revenue.

Requirements

  • Associate degree with 3+ years of technical diagnostics and repair experience -OR- 5+ years of equivalent technical work experience.
  • Possessing a valid Driver's License and meeting fleet eligibility requirements.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Networking/IT system upgrades experience.
  • Field Service Engineering experience.
  • Diagnosing and repairing medical devices, electromechanical equipment, or scientific instruments.
