About the position

As a Field Service Engineer II at Applied Materials, you will play a crucial role in the semiconductor industry, working with cutting-edge technology that is essential for the production of semiconductor chips and advanced displays. In this role, you will be expected to complete all required job documentation, safety training, and procedures for processing parts. You will work both in our state-of-the-art facility and at customer sites around the globe, making you the face of Applied Materials and an integral part of a vibrant and diverse team. Your work will directly impact the efficiency and effectiveness of multimillion-dollar production systems, and you will be responsible for satisfying both the company's and the customer's on-site requirements, including adherence to safety, environmental, and COVID-19 guidelines. Responsibilities

  • Assist senior engineers with installing leading-edge customer equipment.
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and corrective maintenance on equipment.
  • Upgrade equipment as necessary to meet customer needs.
  • Follow training procedures and published task plans to test equipment and diagnose technical problems.
  • Complete required job documentation and safety training.
  • Represent Applied Materials professionally to customers, maintaining a customer-first mindset.
  • Satisfy on-site requirements including safety, environmental, and COVID-19 guidelines.

Requirements

  • An associate degree or completion of military technical training and field experience or technical certification equivalent to an associate's degree.
  • 2-4 years of work experience in the semiconductor industry or another equipment support industry.
  • Ability to read electrical and mechanical schematics.
  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills, with an emphasis on documenting details.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and knowledge in pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, vacuum, or thermodynamics.
  • Knowledge of hand tools and proper usage, including a digital multimeter.
  • Valid driver's license and the ability to obtain a passport.
