We have an exciting new job opportunity working for the world leader in the scientific community! As a Field Service Engineer II (Chromatography), you will be responsible for performing on-site installation and preventive maintenance of Chromatography and Mass Spectrometer (MS) equipment at customer labs. This role requires a multifaceted individual who can resolve problems and work directly with clients, forming interpersonal relationships over time. You will be working remotely, with up to 75% travel within the Pacific Northwest, and will be based from your home office. In this position, you will handle personal parts inventories, complete job tasks, and finalize service reports using service ticket management software. Training customers on Chromatography and MS equipment and software will be a key part of your responsibilities. You will also serve as a communication link between the customer and the company to ensure effective service is provided. Regular attendance at factory-provided technical and service training on the newest innovative products developed by Thermo Fisher Scientific is expected. Teamwork is essential, as you will be working in conjunction with Service and Sales teams to review customer data and run factory protocols to troubleshoot instrumentation. Sharing diagnostic information with engineering, factory, field service, management, and other personnel will be crucial to expedite repairs. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, with a minimum of 2 years of user maintenance experience on Chromatography or Mass Spectrometer equipment.
