As a Field Service Engineer II at Applied Materials, you will play a crucial role in the installation, maintenance, and upgrading of advanced semiconductor manufacturing equipment. This position requires a strong technical background and the ability to troubleshoot complex hardware issues. You will be working both in our state-of-the-art facility and at customer sites around the globe, representing Applied Materials and ensuring that our customers receive world-class support for their multimillion-dollar production systems. Your responsibilities will include assisting senior engineers with the installation of cutting-edge equipment, performing scheduled preventative maintenance, and resolving technical problems as they arise. You will be trained to follow established procedures and task plans to ensure that all equipment is functioning optimally and that all safety and environmental guidelines are adhered to. In this role, you will be expected to travel extensively, with travel requirements ranging from 70% to 90%. This travel will include both domestic and international locations, and you may be required to support rotational shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays based on customer needs. The position demands physical stamina, as you will be required to walk extensively, stand for long periods, and work in tight spaces. You will also need to lift up to 35 pounds and use various hand and power tools while adhering to safety protocols, especially in clean room environments where personal protective equipment is mandatory.
