The Field Service Engineer II position at Applied Materials involves troubleshooting hardware, solving complex problems, and enhancing equipment performance. Responsibilities

  • Assist senior engineers with installing customer equipment and performing scheduled maintenance.
  • Follow training procedures and published task plans to test equipment and diagnose technical problems.
  • Complete required job documentation and safety training.
  • Professionally represent Applied Materials to customers, maintaining a customer-first mindset.
  • Satisfy on-site requirements including safety and environmental guidelines.

Requirements

  • An associate degree or equivalent military technical training and field experience.
  • 2-4 years of work experience in the semiconductor industry or equipment support.
  • Ability to read electrical and mechanical schematics.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, with an emphasis on documentation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and knowledge in pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, vacuum, or thermodynamics.
  • Knowledge of hand tools and proper usage, including a digital multimeter.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to obtain a passport.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with 200mm or 300mm installation in semiconductor environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to use calibration equipment and strong computer literacy.
