About the position

The Field Service Engineer II - Life Support is responsible for providing specialized medical equipment services, particularly focusing on life support equipment such as anesthesia machines, ventilators, and defibrillators. This role involves performing preventive maintenance, installation support, testing, calibration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of medical equipment. The engineer will work under the supervision of BSI management and is expected to maintain a patient-focused culture while collaborating with customers and upholding the company's mission and values. The position requires significant travel, up to 70% of the time.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance inspections on life support equipment.
  • Provide installation support for medical equipment.
  • Conduct testing, calibration, and troubleshooting of life support devices.
  • Maintain and repair general medical equipment as needed.
  • Utilize applicable test equipment and tools effectively.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
  • Collaborate with customers to maintain positive relationships.
  • Exhibit pride, professionalism, and technical expertise in all interactions.
  • Uphold the Prime Healthcare Mission and Vision in daily activities.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Biomedical Engineering/Electrical Engineering or equivalent with a minimum of 2 years of experience, or a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience servicing Life Support medical equipment.
  • Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and electro-mechanical fundamentals.
  • Strong understanding of medical equipment function, operation, and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to travel up to 70% of the time.
  • Familiarity with TJC, DNV, HFAP, CAP, NFPA, CMS, HIPAA, and other applicable standards and regulations.
  • Strong planning, organization, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to write reports and make presentations on operational and technical issues.
  • Proficient in MS Office, clinical applications, and CMMS systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and read schematics or blueprints.
  • Valid driver's license required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Field related technical certifications (like A+, CBET, CCE or CHTM) preferred.
