About the position

The Field Service Engineer II (C2) - Install Team at Applied Materials is responsible for installing, maintaining, and upgrading semiconductor manufacturing equipment at customer sites globally. This role requires extensive travel and involves troubleshooting hardware and solving complex problems to ensure optimal equipment performance. The engineer will represent Applied Materials professionally while adhering to safety and environmental guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior engineers with installing customer equipment and performing scheduled maintenance.
• Follow training procedures and published task plans to test equipment and diagnose technical problems.
• Complete required job documentation and safety training.
• Represent Applied Materials professionally to customers with a customer-first mindset.
• Satisfy on-site requirements including safety and COVID-19 guidelines.

Requirements

• An associate degree or equivalent military technical training and field experience.
• 2-4 years of work experience in the semiconductor industry or equipment support.
• Ability to read electrical and mechanical schematics.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills, with an emphasis on documentation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Basic mechanical aptitude and knowledge in pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, vacuum, or thermodynamics.
• Knowledge of hand tools and proper usage, including a digital multimeter.
• Valid driver's license and ability to obtain a passport.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with fluid dynamics and hazardous wet chemistries.
