About the position

Join Omnicell, a pioneering force in healthcare technology, as a Field Service Engineer (FSE) I or II, where your work will directly impact patient care and outcomes. Our FSEs provide troubleshooting, repair services, and scheduled preventive maintenance for Omnicell's pharmacy and supply automation solutions at customer sites. Your work will keep critical pharmacy and supply systems running, helping healthcare providers deliver the highest quality patient care. In this role, you will engage with healthcare professionals to optimize healthcare delivery and improve patient outcomes. You will apply your mechanical skills in a dynamic and rewarding healthcare environment while interacting with healthcare professionals. Your contributions will help optimize healthcare delivery, directly impacting patient lives. You will also have the opportunity to learn pharmacy and nursing workflows and understand how medication management systems significantly drive efficiency and reduce wasteful spending. Furthermore, there are opportunities for advancement and learning specialized automated or robotic products. As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for providing moderate to advanced-level onsite troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and emergency maintenance of Omnicell's electro-mechanical solutions. You will regularly communicate with nursing and pharmacy staff at various levels and tackle problems of varying scope. Thorough documentation of all service events according to Omnicell's policies and procedures is essential, as is meeting company guidelines for response time and service levels. You will also manage parts inventory and return materials processes, ensuring service quality and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Provide moderate-level onsite troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and emergency maintenance of Omnicell's electro-mechanical solutions.
  • Independently perform onsite troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and emergency maintenance of Omnicell's automation solutions.
  • Regularly communicate with manager-level and director-level nursing and pharmacy staff to address problems of varying scope.
  • Thoroughly document all service events according to Omnicell's policies and procedures.
  • Meet company guidelines for response time and service levels.
  • Escalate product bugs, malfunctions, and design issues through support channels.
  • Participate in various staff meetings.
  • Maintain service quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Manage parts inventory and return materials process.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Technology or related discipline; or Associates Degree/Trade School Certification/Military Training in an Engineering/Technology related discipline; or five years equivalent experience troubleshooting and repairing electronic, mechanical, or computer devices.
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing electronic, mechanical, or computer devices.
  • Coursework in Network Engineering, Robotics, or Electronics.
  • Experience working in a hospital environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Technology or related discipline and experience troubleshooting and repairing electronic, mechanical, or computer devices.
  • Knowledge of FDA regulations for medical devices and Quality Management Systems.
