About the position

In this role, you will engage with healthcare professionals to optimize healthcare delivery and improve patient outcomes. As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for providing moderate to advanced-level onsite troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and emergency maintenance of Omnicell's electro-mechanical solutions. You will regularly communicate with nursing and pharmacy staff at various levels and tackle problems of varying scope. Thorough documentation of all service events according to Omnicell's policies and procedures is essential, as is meeting company guidelines for response time and service levels. You will also be expected to escalate product bugs, malfunctions, and design issues through support channels, participate in various staff meetings, maintain service quality and customer satisfaction, and manage parts inventory and return materials processes. The work conditions require the ability to lift 50 lbs. to approximately 5 ft. high, availability for on-call rotations, and frequent local travel in the primary area. You will need to provide a work area at home and space for trunk stock inventory. The selected individual must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record, be able to meet Omnicell's insurance coverage requirements, and have their own vehicle in acceptable working condition. Responsibilities

  • Provide moderate-level onsite troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and emergency maintenance of Omnicell's electro-mechanical solutions.
  • Independently perform onsite troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and emergency maintenance of Omnicell's electro-mechanical and automation solutions.
  • Regularly communicate with manager-level and director-level nursing and pharmacy staff and work on problems of moderate to advanced scope.
  • Thoroughly document all service events according to Omnicell's policies and procedures.
  • Meet company guidelines for response time and service levels.
  • Escalate product bugs, malfunctions, and design issues through support channels.
  • Participate in various staff meetings.
  • Maintain service quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Manage parts inventory and return materials process.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Technology or related discipline; or Associates Degree/Trade School Certification/Military Training in an Engineering/Technology related discipline; or five years equivalent experience troubleshooting and repairing electronic, mechanical, or computer devices.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Technology or related discipline AND one year of relevant experience; OR Associate's Degree/Trade School Certification/Military Training in an Engineering/Technology related discipline, AND four years of relevant experience; OR seven years equivalent experience troubleshooting and repairing electronic, mechanical, or computer devices.
  • Coursework in Network Engineering, Robotics, or Electronics.
  • Experience working in a hospital environment.
  • Knowledge of FDA regulations for medical devices and Quality Management Systems.
