About the position

The Field Service Engineer II position at EV Group, Inc. is a critical role that involves the installation, servicing, troubleshooting, and repair of complex electronic and electromechanical equipment. This position requires a high level of expertise and independence, as the engineer will operate as a product expert on select EVG product lines. The role includes assisting in the implementation of detailed customer installation plans, ensuring reliability, process qualification, and sign-off. Additionally, the engineer will be responsible for training customer personnel on advanced equipment operation, maintenance procedures, and process-related operations. Onsite technical support for the development and implementation of equipment and process applications is also a key component of this role. Furthermore, the Field Service Engineer II will train other Field Service Engineers on specific product lines, enhancing the overall skill set within the team. The essential duties of this position include providing professional and courteous service to customers, with a primary goal of achieving complete customer satisfaction. The engineer will assist customers and other personnel in identifying and repairing equipment-related process problems, perform onsite preventative maintenance, and verify the operational quality of equipment. Responsibilities also include performing start-up, warranty, paid service, and service contract activities, as well as hardware setup on specified systems within established time frames. Keeping management informed of down situations, documenting and logging activities, and troubleshooting process variations are also critical tasks. The engineer will participate in local customer meetings, communicate effectively with customers, and prepare and submit all required paperwork in a timely manner. In addition to these responsibilities, the Field Service Engineer II must comply with all OSHA and customer safety requirements, stay current with prescribed training courses, and be prepared to work overtime or travel on short notice, including unscheduled callouts. The position requires domestic and international travel, with expectations of up to 20% travel time. A valid passport is necessary, and the engineer must be physically capable of operating EVG hired vehicles safely. The role also involves initiating purchase orders for parts and service, maintaining and performing repairs on company demo cleanroom equipment, and demonstrating excellent customer service skills. Overall, this position is vital for ensuring the smooth operation of complex equipment and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Installation, service, troubleshooting, and repair of complex electronic and electromechanical equipment.
  • Assisting customers in identifying and repairing equipment-related process problems.

Requirements

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in a related engineering field plus two (2) years of experience or up to four (4) years of experience installing/repairing semiconductor/electronic production equipment.
  • Advanced electromechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledge of quality improvement process methods and terminology.
  • Ability to identify and solve advanced process-related system problems.
  • Ability to communicate and demonstrate professional conduct with all levels of customers, management, and coworkers.
  • Advanced PC skills (Windows, MS Office suite).
