About the position

Join Omnicell, a pioneering force in healthcare technology, as a Field Service Engineer (FSE) I or II, where your work will directly impact patient care and outcomes. Our FSEs provide troubleshooting, repair services, and scheduled preventive maintenance for Omnicell's pharmacy and supply automation solutions at customer sites. Your work will keep critical pharmacy and supply systems running, helping healthcare providers deliver the highest quality patient care. As a Field Service Engineer, you will engage with healthcare professionals to optimize healthcare delivery and improve patient outcomes. You will apply your mechanical skills in a dynamic and rewarding healthcare environment while interacting with healthcare professionals. Your work will help optimize healthcare delivery, directly impacting patient lives. You will have opportunities for advancement and learning specialized automated or robotic products, allowing you to develop your skills further. In this role, you will be responsible for providing moderate to advanced-level onsite troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and emergency maintenance of Omnicell's electro-mechanical and automation solutions. You will regularly communicate with nursing and pharmacy staff at various levels, tackling problems of varying scope and complexity. Additionally, you will document all service events according to Omnicell's policies and procedures, meet company guidelines for response time and service levels, and escalate product bugs, malfunctions, and design issues through support channels. The position requires you to maintain service quality and customer satisfaction while managing parts inventory and the return materials process. You will also be expected to participate in various staff meetings and provide coaching and mentoring as needed, especially at the Level II position.

Responsibilities

  • Provide moderate-level onsite troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and emergency maintenance of Omnicell's electro-mechanical solutions.
  • Independently perform onsite troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and emergency maintenance of Omnicell's electro-mechanical and automation solutions.
  • Regularly communicate with manager-level and director-level nursing and pharmacy staff to tackle problems of moderate to advanced scope.
  • Thoroughly document all service events according to Omnicell's policies and procedures.
  • Meet company guidelines for response time and service levels.
  • Escalate product bugs, malfunctions, and design issues through support channels.
  • Participate in various staff meetings.
  • Maintain service quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Manage parts inventory and return materials process.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Technology or related discipline; or Associates Degree/Trade School Certification/Military Training in an Engineering/Technology related discipline; or five years equivalent experience troubleshooting and repairing electronic, mechanical, or computer devices.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Technology or a related discipline AND one year of relevant experience; OR Associate's Degree/Trade School Certification/Military Training in an Engineering/Technology related discipline, AND four years of relevant experience; OR seven years equivalent experience troubleshooting and repairing electronic, mechanical, or computer devices.
  • Coursework in Network Engineering, Robotics, or Electronics.
  • Experience working in a hospital environment.
  • Knowledge of FDA regulations for medical devices and Quality Management Systems.
