About the position

As a Field Service Engineer for Bio-Rad's Global Commercial Operations Group, you will play a crucial role in providing essential support to hospitals and laboratories throughout the Minneapolis, MN area. Your primary responsibilities will include performing repairs, upgrades, and preventative maintenance on Bio-Rad's Clinical Diagnostics and Life Science instruments. This ensures that our equipment operates at peak performance, which is vital for the healthcare professionals who depend on it to advance medical research and treatments. You will also be expected to respond to emergencies and may assist staff in other regions, leveraging your in-depth knowledge of our products to advocate for customers and deliver exceptional service and support. In this dynamic role, no two days will be the same, and your contributions will have a direct impact on Bio-Rad's success. You will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with customers, allowing you to anticipate their needs and provide tailored support. Adhering to FDA and GMP regulations is essential, and you will be required to maintain detailed records and service documentation to uphold Bio-Rad's integrity and reputation in the industry. Your work will not only support the instruments that facilitate scientific breakthroughs but also contribute to the overall advancement of healthcare research and treatments.

Responsibilities

  • Perform repairs, upgrades, and preventative maintenance on Bio-Rad's Clinical Diagnostics and Life Science instruments.
  • Respond to emergencies and provide support to staff in other regions as needed.
  • Build and sustain strong relationships with customers to anticipate and advocate for their needs.
  • Adhere to FDA and GMP regulations with detailed record keeping and service documentation.
  • Ensure the quality performance of instruments for customers working to advance healthcare.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of transferable field service experience servicing electro-mechanical/electronic/optical/robotics equipment.
  • A.S. or B.S. in Electronics, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, or military equivalent experience.
  • Ability to read, understand, and successfully follow medium to highly complex work instructions.
  • Strong electro-mechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong computer skills and fundamental knowledge of computer networking.
  • Strong customer relation and communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Flexibility and enthusiasm for daily travel.

Nice-to-haves

  • Hands-on experience with Diagnostic or Life Science instruments.
