About the position

As a Field Service Engineer for Bio-Rad's Global Commercial Operations Group, you will play a crucial role in providing essential assistance and care to customers in hospitals and laboratories throughout the Little Rock area. Your primary responsibilities will include performing repairs, upgrades, and preventative maintenance on Bio-Rad's Clinical Diagnostics and Life Science instruments. This ensures that the equipment operates at optimal quality, which is vital for the healthcare professionals who depend on it to advance their research and treatments. You will also be expected to respond to emergencies and may occasionally assist staff in other regions, leveraging your in-depth knowledge of Bio-Rad's products to advocate for customers and deliver exceptional service and support. Your work will not only involve technical skills but also the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with customers. This relationship-building will allow you to anticipate their needs and provide tailored support. Adhering to FDA and GMP regulations is essential, and you will be responsible for detailed record-keeping and service documentation to uphold Bio-Rad's integrity and reputation in the industry. The dynamic nature of this role means that no two days will be the same, and your contributions will have a direct impact on Bio-Rad's success in the healthcare sector.

Responsibilities

  • Perform repairs, upgrades, and preventative maintenance on Bio-Rad's Clinical Diagnostics and Life Science instruments.
  • Respond to emergencies and provide support to customers in hospitals and laboratories.
  • Build and sustain strong relationships with customers to anticipate and advocate for their needs.
  • Adhere to FDA and GMP regulations with detailed record keeping and service documentation.
  • Assist staff in other regions as needed, applying thorough knowledge of Bio-Rad's products.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of transferable field service experience servicing electro-mechanical/electronic/optical/robotics equipment.
  • A.S. or B.S. in Electronics, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, or military equivalent experience.
  • Ability to read, understand, and successfully follow medium to highly complex work instructions.
  • Strong electro-mechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong computer skills and fundamental knowledge of computer networking.
  • Strong customer relation and communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Flexibility and enthusiasm for daily travel.

Nice-to-haves

  • Hands-on experience with Diagnostic or Life Science instruments.
