About the position

The Field Service Engineer II at ASM is responsible for performing installations, preventative maintenance, and remedial repair maintenance on complex electronic and electro-mechanical semiconductor capital equipment. This role emphasizes customer satisfaction through advanced service skills and a safety-first mentality, with a significant travel requirement of up to 75% for both domestic and international locations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform installations of semiconductor capital equipment at customer sites.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance and remedial repair maintenance on complex electronic/electro-mechanical systems.
  • Provide advanced customer service to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Implement fast and quality responses to customer inquiries and issues.
  • Maintain a safety-first mentality while performing all tasks.
  • Travel to customer locations for service and support, potentially up to 75% of the time.

Requirements

  • Minimum of an Associate Degree in electronics/electro-mechanical discipline or equivalent military technical training.
  • 2-5 years of field service/customer support experience or 5+ years of manufacturing experience in semiconductor capital equipment.
  • Preferred experience with vertical furnaces.
  • Knowledge in wafer fab, closed-loop gas and vacuum control, RG induced plasma, electro-pneumatic controls, microprocessor-based controllers, and robotics.
  • Basic troubleshooting techniques for complex microprocessor-controlled electromechanical systems.
  • Ability to work with hand tools and knowledge of Oscilloscope's and DVM's.
  • Strong positive attitude and good customer service skills.
  • Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Knowledge of structured problem-solving techniques.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and independently with limited supervision.
  • Ability to interpret electronic/electro-mechanical schematics and drawings.
