The position involves a range of responsibilities primarily focused on the operation and maintenance of equipment within a manufacturing environment. The individual will be proficient in the primary toolset and will demonstrate the ability to acquire additional systems and applications as needed. The role requires performing startup activities through Tier II with limited support and completing qualifications with minimal assistance. The technician will be responsible for completing quality repairs and actively responding to fabrication issues by communicating with engineers in other locations and participating in escalation conference calls. They may also initiate or participate in projects aimed at driving down costs or increasing uptime, and will be expected to carry out action plans and report findings accordingly. In addition to technical skills, the position requires a strong focus on customer satisfaction. The technician will assume responsibility for ensuring excellent relations within their assigned area, demonstrating a strong interest and knowledge of the customer's business. They will build and maintain customer satisfaction through clear, consistent communication and the sharing of collective knowledge. The role demands the ability to operate effectively in high-pressure or ambiguous situations, soliciting customer feedback and understanding the impact of various actions and decisions on the account. The technician will also be responsible for developing and executing corrective action plans as necessary. The position is physically demanding, requiring extensive walking, standing for extended periods, and working in tight spaces. The technician will need to perform various physical tasks such as bending, squatting, twisting, kneeling, reaching, climbing stairs and ladders, and lifting up to 35 lbs. They must also be able to distinguish between colors and work in environments with potentially difficult noise levels. The use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is mandatory due to the clean room environment, which includes coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses, gloves, respirators, chemical aprons, and face shields.
