About the position

The Field Service Engineer III position at Thermo Fisher Scientific involves repairing, installing, and updating hardware and automation products within the Bioprocess Equipment & Automation division. The role requires consulting at customer sites and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction through timely service and problem resolution. The engineer will work closely with various departments to enhance the customer experience and support product quality improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Provide instruments and equipment services, including installation, basic training, preventative maintenance, repair, and compliance services.
  • Contribute to high-value service-related procedures and documents.
  • Collaborate with other departments to improve customer experience.
  • Ensure timely customer response times and problem resolution to enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Provide up-to-date service reporting on customer activities.
  • Perform commissioning and qualification of equipment by completing Site Acceptance Test (SAT) and Installation/Operational Qualification (IQ/OQ) Protocols.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers in assigned territory.
  • Assist Service Sales Representative on service orders.
  • Support product quality improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or above in computer technology, E/E, Automation, or biology, chemistry is preferable.
  • University degree in a technical field (physics, optics, precision mechanics, electronics, chemistry, etc.), or a combination of education and experience that demonstrates the required skills.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in cell culture, fluorescence microscopy, flow cytometry and other relevant techniques desired.
  • Outstanding teamwork skills to work with counterparts and customers globally.
  • Self-motivated and self-starter with strong communication skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems, PC hardware and desktop application products.
  • Well-developed oral and written English skills.
  • Ability and willingness to travel extensively.

Nice-to-haves

  • Delta V or other control software experience is a plus.
