About the position

The Field Support Engineering Specialist - Ovens will collaborate with oven equipment OEMs and facility operations to address and resolve design, operational, controls, and temperature uniformity issues related to gas-fired ovens. This role involves extensive travel to various domestic and international facilities, where the specialist will provide on-site technical services and manage third-party contractors.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with oven equipment suppliers to understand equipment functionality.
  • Identify design, operational, and controls issues with oven equipment.
  • Propose and implement safe solutions to resolve identified issues.
  • Troubleshoot oven equipment and application issues causing production inefficiencies.
  • Recommend equipment upgrades to optimize production efficiency and reduce downtime.
  • Ensure compliance of oven equipment with safety standards and regulations.
  • Prepare maintenance reports by analyzing and summarizing data and trends.
  • Train local operations and maintenance teams on oven equipment functionality and maintenance.
  • Assist in creating preventative and predictive maintenance schedules using Asset Maintenance Management Systems.
  • Conduct internal QA/QC testing for oven temperature validation.
  • Participate in on-the-job training during third-party OEM maintenance projects.
  • Attend offsite training courses to enhance knowledge and experience.
  • Promote a 'Safety First' mentality to improve HSE awareness.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in gas-fired oven equipment troubleshooting.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • Fundamental understanding of gas-fired oven systems including electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Experience with PLC and controls troubleshooting is a plus.
  • Ability to read schematics and mechanical drawings.
  • Hands-on field experience in a manufacturing/production environment is mandatory.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with equipment startup and commissioning.
  • Ability to travel with minimal notice.
