About the position

The Field Service Engineer - Instrumentation & Controls role at Baker Hughes involves coordinating and overseeing field site work, ensuring quality service to customers while adhering to safety and environmental guidelines. The position requires providing technical support during installation, commissioning, and maintenance of equipment, acting as the primary contact for customer coordination, and performing troubleshooting as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee work at the field site, ensuring quality service to customers.
  • Ensure all in-field activities comply with company health, safety, and environmental guidelines.
  • Provide advice and support to clients and craft labor in the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of equipment.
  • Assist start-up engineers during the commissioning phase to ensure proper operation of machines.
  • Perform minor and major maintenance of equipment following service quality checklists and procedures.
  • Act as the primary contact to coordinate activities on-site with customers and site teams.
  • Provide limited troubleshooting on equipment under maintenance or installation.

Requirements

  • 4-8 years of engineering experience or a full-time diploma/equivalent business experience.
  • Working experience in Instrumentation and Control systems like Mark VIe, Mark VI, or Mark V.
  • Excellent functional/technical skills, customer focus, communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
  • Prior experience in installation and/or maintenance activities of rotating equipment in the field at customer sites.
  • Industry experience and TPS product line training.
