About the position

The Field Service Engineer position at Serco involves supporting the Anti-Terrorism Force-Protection (AT/FP) Naval Electronic Surveillance Systems (NESS) program for the United States Navy. This full-time role is based in Jacksonville, FL, with significant travel (50%) to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. The engineer will be responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of various security systems and equipment, ensuring the protection of mission-critical assets and personnel.

Responsibilities

  • Install, troubleshoot, and maintain products/equipment including alarms, naval munitions, giant voice, cameras, intrusion detection, and emergency operation centers.
  • Train employees on system operations and maintenance.
  • Identify, analyze, and repair product failures, ordering and replacing parts as necessary.
  • Determine and recommend products or services that best fit customer needs.

Requirements

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret level clearance.
  • High-school diploma/GED or Bachelor's degree with relevant experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in the field or 1 year with a Bachelor's degree.
  • Residence in Jacksonville, FL area with the ability to travel to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba 50% of the time.
  • A valid United States passport.
  • Experience with access gates and associated hardware, software, systems, and manufacturers.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Federal Signal systems.
  • Familiarity with CCTV and FLIR systems.
  • Knowledge of Lenel and Balanced Magnetic Switch systems.
  • Experience with Card Readers and Access Control Logic.
