About the position

A global Automation Machine Manufacturer is looking for a Field Service Engineer who enjoys hands-on work. This company works with the Semiconductor Industry. The ideal candidate is familiar with troubleshooting mechanical components of industrial or tooling machines. Additionally, you will be required to read blueprints and assembly automation systems on the field. As a Mechanical Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for troubleshooting mechanical issues, assisting in the installation process, and conducting maintenance on assigned electrical or mechanical machine components. You will establish construction, manufacturing, or installation standards or specifications by performing a wide range of detailed calculations. Furthermore, you will recommend technical solutions and ensure compliance with specifications, codes, or customer requirements by directing or coordinating installation, manufacturing, construction, maintenance, documentation, support, or testing activities. You will also be responsible for the completion of all required reporting of service work performed, time sheets, and other reports. Other job duties may be assigned as needed, making this a dynamic role that requires adaptability and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshooting mechanical issues
  • Assisting installation process and conducting maintenance on assigned electrical or mechanical machines components
  • Establishing construction, manufacturing, or installation standards or specifications by performing a wide range of detailed calculations
  • Recommending technical solutions/resolutions to assigned team
  • Ensuring compliance with specifications, codes, or customer requirements by directing or coordinating installation, manufacturing, construction, maintenance, documentation, support, or testing activities
  • Completion of all required reporting of service work performed, time sheets, and other reports
  • Other job duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Internship or CO-OP in the Semiconductor field is a plus
  • Knowledge of applicable codes related to electronic engineering
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and associated engineering documentation
  • Experience in working with mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, painting, drywall repairs, or carpentry
  • Proficient in the use of precision measuring instruments (electrical metering equipment, multimeters, calipers, gauge pins, etc.)
  • Good customer service skills
  • Must be able to travel to customer sites
