About the position

The Field Service Engineer at Baker Hughes is responsible for delivering electrical and winding repair services to customers using a variety of original equipment, including generators and motors. This role involves ensuring compliance with safety standards, conducting maintenance activities, interpreting technical data, and providing detailed reports on work performed. The position requires significant travel, both domestically and internationally, to meet customer needs and deliver high-quality service.

Responsibilities

  • Comply with OSHA, Baker Hughes, site-specific, and other industry standard health and safety practices.
  • Maintain, accomplish, and/or attend QEHS training as required.
  • Interpret machine performance data, instrumentation readings, test values, specifications, technical requirements, and technical drawings.
  • Conduct core maintenance activities such as disassembly, cleaning, inspection, evaluation, and reassembly on heavy-duty industrial generators and equipment.
  • Provide proper direction to support labor in conducting maintenance activities, including working with union and non-union trades.
  • Compose detailed and concise technical reports for customer acceptance and documentation of work performed on-site.
  • Attend technical meetings and functions as a liaison between the customer and BRUSH.

Requirements

  • Technical degree from an accredited school.
  • 3+ years of field service experience.
  • Competency with tooling such as hydraulic tensioners, hydraulic rams, basic hand tools, pneumatic impact drivers, multi-meters, megger, rigging, generator special tooling, caliper, and precision measurement equipment.
  • Willingness to travel regularly, both domestically and internationally, 75% - 85% of the time.
