About the position

The Field Service Engineer will work remotely from a home office within the designated territory, which includes Wisconsin, Illinois, Minnesota, and Iowa. This role focuses on providing technical services and sales support to foundry customers, ensuring customer satisfaction while promoting the company's products and services. The engineer will engage in hands-on activities, including installations, trials, and training, while also responding to customer inquiries and troubleshooting issues as they arise.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical services and sales to foundry customers.
  • Respond to customer calls and conduct installations and trials at customer sites.
  • Deliver training to end users and provide on-site troubleshooting assistance.
  • Seek sales opportunities while ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Provide feedback to design teams regarding product deficiencies and desired updates.
  • Evaluate and maintain effective inventory levels at customer sites.
  • Coordinate with Customer Service Representatives to ensure accurate and timely submission of Purchase Orders.
  • Monitor the financial health of customers through trend analysis of customer data.
  • Serve as backup to distributor representatives.
  • Participate in industry shows and meetings.

Requirements

  • Minimum of an associate degree or technical degree in metallurgy, material science, engineering, instrumentation, industrial maintenance, or related fields.
  • Previous experience in a foundry or molten metal processing facility is desired.
  • Technical sales experience in an industrial environment is highly desired.
  • Basic electrical and mechanical knowledge along with pneumatics experience is desired.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills are required.
  • Strong technical understanding and product knowledge with the ability to sell to customer needs.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written, are required.
  • Customer service fundamentals to effectively deal with customer complaints are necessary.
  • Strong computer and mobile device skills; experience with PC-based systems is required.
  • Must be able to work out of a home office in the specified states and be willing to travel 50-60% of the time.
