About the position

As a Field Service Engineer at Esko, you will play a crucial role in providing onsite support for our customers utilizing CDI Laser Engraving Equipment (Digital Flexo). This position involves a variety of responsibilities, including new installations, operator training, and performing electrical, mechanical, and laser optics repairs. You will also be responsible for conducting preventative maintenance, field upgrades, and machine software upgrades. This role requires a strong customer-oriented approach, as you will be the face of Esko at customer sites, ensuring that their equipment operates efficiently and effectively. Your daily tasks will involve traveling to customer locations, where you will perform hands-on services and support. You will need to maintain excellent records of service reports and spare parts, ensuring that all documentation is accurate and up-to-date. The ability to communicate clearly with customers about progress and any issues that arise is essential. You will be expected to work independently and proactively, demonstrating a hands-on approach to problem-solving. Flexibility is key, as this role requires traveling up to 90% of the time, with 50% of that being overnight travel. Responsibilities

  • Perform onsite services at Esko customers, including new installations and operator training.

Requirements

  • Secondary school experience in electrical/mechanics/technical field or equivalent military training.
  • 2 years' experience installing and maintaining copier printing, industrial, or military equipment.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair complex electrical and mechanical problems.
  • Good working knowledge of PC hardware and driver installation.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with digital flexo technology.
  • Familiarity with packaging management software.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in a fast-paced environment.
