About the position

In this role as a Field Service Engineer for MRI Diagnostic Imaging, you will be at the forefront of customer relationship management, utilizing your technical expertise to install, troubleshoot, service, and maintain MRI equipment at various customer sites. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure exceptional customer service by adhering to customer entitlements, setting clear expectations, and meeting commitments and arrival times to effectively address and resolve customer needs. Understanding the customer's business and competitive environment will be crucial in generating service revenue and fostering strong relationships. As a member of the regional work team, you will actively participate in improving team processes and identifying training gaps. This role requires a proactive approach to seek out opportunities for increasing capability and capacity, which may involve becoming qualified in multiple modalities and learning new tools. You will also be responsible for performing all administrative duties in compliance with Philips, State, and Federal regulatory requirements, including managing timesheets, service work orders, expense reports, and preventative maintenance documentation. Your technical responsibilities will include utilizing tools, support, resources, and escalation processes to resolve customer and system problems in a timely and effective manner. You will complete preventative maintenance tasks, Field Change Orders, installations, and all related tasks, which involve diagnosing and resolving electronic, network, and mechanical issues. This position requires approximately 70% travel across the specified geography, with an average daily driving time of 1-4 hours, occasional overnight stays, and travel by air or train as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service by adhering to customer entitlements and setting clear expectations.
  • Actively participate as a member of the regional work team to improve processes and identify training gaps.
  • Perform all administrative duties within established regulatory requirements and timeframes.
  • Utilize tools and resources to resolve customer and system problems timely and effectively.
  • Complete preventative maintenance, Field Change Orders, installations, and related tasks.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in a diagnostic imaging service environment or 4+ years in electromechanical industries.
  • Ability to understand and apply electronic, mechanical, and networking theory to install, diagnose, and repair equipment.
  • Associate Degree in electronics or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience; BSEE/BSEET/BSME/BSMET preferred.
  • Experience with ultrasound and OEM training is highly preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a hospital-based service environment.
  • Knowledge of radiation safety and personal protective equipment requirements.
