Field Service Engineer - Ontario, Canada

About the position

As a Field Service Engineer at Marel, your most important responsibility is to provide customer support for installed systems and new installations. You will develop the skills to test, diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and debug electro-mechanical equipment and computer systems. This job is an attractive position for candidates who like the challenge of facing technical issues in front of demanding customers in the Poultry, Meat, and Fish processing/packaging plants across the U.S. This is a full-time, travel position (85%). The ideal candidate will need to reside in Ontario, Canada.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that the Marel experience for customers matches the Marel promise of superior performance, service, and quality.
• Work closely with customer management and supervisors to provide outstanding communication and support.
• Complete on-site evaluations, install machine enhancements, and appropriately test and calibrate parts to meet tolerances and product specifications.
• Troubleshoot and perform break fix services to high technology food processing equipment.

Requirements

• Two years of technical trade or equivalent experience.
• Coursework or prior work experience with troubleshooting, installing, and/or repairing electrical/pneumatic/embedded controllers/industrial machines.
• Mechanical aptitude with the ability to use tools to maintain equipment.
• Knowledge of electrical components and understanding of electrical current flow with the ability to identify and troubleshoot the same.
• Ability to qualify for a US Passport.
• Ability to speak French.
• Applicants must currently be authorized to work in the US on a full-time basis.

Nice-to-haves

• Understanding of meat processing plants (meat, poultry, and/or fish) and knowledge of how interdependent equipment works within the applications.
